CNC machining center is the machine tool that must be used in mold processing. So what do we need to pay attention to when processing the mold? Today, we will follow the Taicheng CNC Xiaobian to understand a part, what should be paid attention to when processing the mold, so that Better processing the ideal product.
When the ball end milling cutter is used to mill the curved surface, the cutting speed at the cutting edge is very low. If the spherical surface is milled perpendicularly to the surface to be machined, the surface quality of the ball cutter tip is relatively poor, so Properly increase the spindle speed and avoid cutting with the tip.
2 Avoid vertical cutting. There are two types of flat-bottomed cylindrical milling cutters. One is that the end face has a top hole, and the end edge is not centered.
The other is that the end face has no tip hole and the end edges are connected and over center. When milling a surface, the end mill with the top hole must not be fed vertically downward like a drill bit unless the process hole is pre-drilled. Otherwise the cutter will be cut off. If the end knife without the tip hole is used, the knife can be fed vertically downwards, but since the blade angle is too small and the axial force is large, it should be avoided as much as possible. The best way is to feed the knife diagonally downwards and then cut it with a side edge after entering a certain depth. When milling the groove face, the process hole can be pre-drilled to lower the knife. Although the effect of vertical feed with a ball end mill is better than that of a flat end mill, it is better not to use this lower knife method because the axial force is too large and the cutting effect is affected.
3 In the milling of curved parts, if the heat treatment of the parts is not good, there are cracks, uneven structure, etc., the processing should be stopped in time to avoid wasting working hours.
4 When milling a complex surface of a mold cavity, it usually takes a long period. Therefore, the machine tool, fixture, and tool should be properly inspected before starting milling to avoid failure in the middle, affecting the machining accuracy, or even causing Waste.
5 In the mold cavity milling, the repair margin should be properly grasped according to the roughness of the machined surface. For the parts that are difficult to mill, if the surface roughness of the machined surface is poor, the repair margin should be left as much as possible. For the easy-to-machined parts such as flat and right-angle grooves, the surface roughness value should be reduced as much as possible to reduce the repair work. Quantity, to avoid the accuracy of the cavity surface due to large area repair.
